Elkhart Truth 2005:

After working on 10,000 plus semi trailers and box trucks since it started 13 years ago, R-Way Trailer shows no signs of slowing down. Not that president Ed Wagoner would let it.  “Even though we’ve got many customers in the greater Elkhart market” the business will expand it’s service area this year into southern Michigan. “ We’ve just signed a contract with Ryder Truck Leasing “ said Wagoner who stated that R-way’s current customers ail fro Valparaiso and Michigan City as far east as Lagrange, and from the Michigan state line south to Warsaw. The company’s ten mechanics, by providing routine maintenance to major repair both in shop and on site made 2005 a stellar year. R-Way personnel also go to customer’s truck lots to conduct federal inspections.

“We are known for our service” said Wagoner. Although he admits no busy season (“We stay busy all year long”), Wagoner noted that the company is extremely busy between Christmas and New Year’s. “Because of the holidays and plant shutdowns, they use that time to get their trucks serviced. They want their trucks back, especially this year with FEMA trucks being used for hurricane relief efforts.” he said.

R-Way was originally located on County Road 20 and moved in the autumn of 1999 into a 45,000 square foot facility at 57843 Charlotte Ave., just west of State Road 19 in Greenhaven Industrial Park.

“We love our location because it’s convenient for our customers in South Bend and Plymouth.” said Wagoner, who started the business in 1992 with partner Ken Ankin.

“We strive for service and quality. We thank the Elkhart community and Michiana area for their past business and look forward to seeing them in 2006.”
